Livi UK becomes first digital healthcare provider rated Outstanding by CQC

LONDON – 16 June 2021 – Livi today announced it hasbecome the first digital healthcareprovider in England to be rated Outstanding by theCare Quality Commission (CQC), theindependent regulator of health and social care services.

Livi, the UK arm of Kry, enables patients to see GPsand other healthcare professionals byvideo through their smartphone or tablet device sevendays a week, and provides patientmanagement technology to more than 4,000 GP practices.Through NHS partnerships, Liviis available free at the point of use to more thanfive million NHS patients, and can beaccessed by anyone in the UK on a pay-as-you-go basis.The company employs its ownGPs, adding capacity to NHS services as required,and offering patients faster access tohigh-quality healthcare.

The CQC Report, published today, was based on a comprehensiveinspection that took placeon 5 May 2021, with Livi awarded an Outstanding ratingin two out of five categories and agood rating in the other three, leading to an overallOutstanding rating. Just 5% of GPpractices were rated Outstanding by the CQC in 2020.This is the first time Livi has beeninspected by the regulator.

Inspectors highlighted Livi’s work throughout theCOVID-19 pandemic, when the companywas asked by NHS England to run the COVID Home MonitoringService (CHMS).Developed and implemented in just 30 hours duringthe first month of the pandemic, theCHMS allowed hundreds of patients 24 hour access tocare, seven days a week, without therisk of exposing others to COVID-19.

The report also commended Livi Connect, a free softwareplatform, launched in response tothe pandemic, that provides a safe way for doctorsto care for their patients. Since launch,Livi Connect has enabled thousands of patients tobenefit from video consultations with theirown healthcare professional.

The CQC noted just one area of improvement for Livito “review the system for recordingGPs’ NHS appraisals and ensure GP records of theseare kept up to date.”
