
Swedish Government appoints Kalle Conneryd Lundgren to improve healthcare efficiency
Our CEO, has been appointed as a member of the government’s Efficiency Committee overseeing regional initiatives to boost the effectiveness of the national healthcare system.

Established by the Swedish Government in December 2024, the Committee is tasked with enhancing efficiency and improving healthcare through structural reforms. It will allocate 1.5 billion SEK to eligible initiatives, conduct analysis, recommend improvements, and promote the adoption of effective measures nationwide.

The Efficiency Committee is responsible for state grant of 250 million SEK per year from 2025 to 2030, totaling 1.5 billion SEK. These funds can be applied for by the 21 regions in Sweden and will be distributed based on the impact that the initiatives have on streamlining operations and its administration. The Committee for effective healthcare operates as a special decision-making body within the central agency, known as Kammarkollegiet, which covers an extensive area of over 30 different tasks or work streams assigned to it by the Swedish government. The different tasks mainly involve activities that require qualified legal and economic expertise.
Kalle Conneryd Lundgren is a senior consultant surgeon and associate professor in reconstructive plastic surgery. He has studied theoretical physics and earned a doctorate in biochemistry and biophysics. Kalle has worked in the USA, Taiwan, England, and Germany. Since December 2024, he has been the CEO of Kry and has previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at Karolinska University Hospital.
