In the UK, Livi currently supports over 3,000 practices delivering primary care services to over 11mn+ UK patients. In the role as medical director, Tom will be pivotal in shaping the company strategy to build on our clinical operations. This will include introducing new care pathways to tackle growing chronic diseases and prevention; enhancing digital clinical care quality through innovation; along with expanding services into NHS England and Wales towards a more digitally connected framework.
He will work closely with commercial and operations teams supporting NHS trusts, private health insurers, and employers in addressing patient demand and enhancing care journeys and high-quality clinical delivery across the UK, through digital first care journeys.
Kalle Conneryd Lundgren Chief Operations Officer Livi said: “The NHS is under increasing pressure to improve capacity, businesses are focused on enhancing workplace productivity and employee welfare, and private health insurers are leveraging digital solutions. Across the UK, there is an urgent need for timely patient outcomes. Tom’s experience will underscore our commitment to the UK as we endeavour to help more patients access front line care through their GP and support the NHS in addressing the challenges they face.”
Tom Davis, UK Medical Director, Livi said: “I’m delighted to be part of the medical community at Kry and Livi and with 3,000 colleagues across Europe, we're committed to lead and integrate digital transformation across healthcare systems. Immediate access to GPs through a digital platform can significantly improve patient outcomes, whether for instant prescriptions or chronic condition management, at-home or during work hours. Services such as same-day appointments ensure more patients are seen faster, enhancing overall healthcare capacity and effectiveness.”
Tom joined Livi from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board where he had served as a Medical Director in the Central Integrated Health Community. He was previously a senior clinical advisor in an NHS England Improvement Team, as well as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust where he also held previous roles as Medical Director and Deputy CEO.
Having studied at the Royal London Hospitals Medical School (Barts and the London) for his medicine doctorate, Tom went on to the University of Nottingham, where he graduated with a Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine. An advocate for workplace wellbeing, Tom has led coaching and mentoring sessions to empower healthcare professionals and colleagues to get the best out of their careers by balancing self-care, productivity and personal fulfilment.
